Emotional Wedding at The Standard in Rockford IL

I love a good summer wedding day, especially when its at The Standard – one of my favorite wedding venues! 5 days after breaking my hand I was on a lot of ibuprofen and confident our team would delivery an amazing day for Victoria & Ned. Their baby blue bridesmaid dressed contrasted beautifully with the orangey spring bouquets for the ladies. Blue hour photos in front of the conservatory are always a highlight in my galleries.

If you haven’t been to the amazing space – the rooftop conservatory features stunning crystal chandeliers for all parts of the day. This spaces was used for the cocktail hour and the bar when the rooftop dancing began. The main floor has a getting ready space for Victoria and Ned got ready in the man cave. After their emotional first look (Ned couldn’t stop crying all day it was so sweet) the hopped on a railroad trolled with the wedding party to take photos at Nicholas Conservatory in Rockford. The 2nd floor is where they hosted dinner and plenty of emotional speeches.

The rooftop afternoon light was lovely for the ceremony, but the real show was using the space for the dance floor at dusk. I will forever and ever love the Standard and jump at any chance to shoot there – My baby shower was hosted here! The staff on site are lovely – from planning advice to helping run the schedule and anything on between (shoutout Sara!)
