The Perfect Date – April 25th Wedding with a Light Jacket at The Haight in Elgin

Alexandra & Brandon’s wedding was April 25th 2020. One year later, their family and friends got together to celebrate renewing their vows and their first year of marriage at The Haight in Elgin. At the time of their wedding last year, Illinois wasn’t giving out marriage licenses, so they hopped in the car and drive out of state to have a small backyard wedding because they simply couldn’t wait any longer to be husband and wife. Their first year of marriage was certainly unique during the pandemic, but every video call I had with them they never let it get them down and were determined to make the most of it. They were FINALLY able to have the wedding they were waiting for one year later!

“Whats your idea of a perfect date?”

“That’s a tough one. I’d have to say April 25th. Because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.”

Alex get ready at the Haight in the morning with her bridesmaids and family members and she was so excited to get back into her dress. She had the cutest embroidered jacket that fits perfectly with the Miss Congeniality quote from Details Threads Co. Her accessories were boho minimalist that matched her neutral theme perfectly. Her simple white and green florals from Town & Country Gardens next door added a simplistic and romantic touch. Their family watched them renew their vows under the chandelier where they also had their first dance.

Their favorite part of the day was The last song of the night, Piano Man, when all of our friends and family surrounded us in a circle and sang!” Alex & Brandon just bought their first house together and their favorite part of being married is getting to spend every day with each other and planning out the rest of their lives together.
